Hello André,

Unfortunately that would not be possible, as almost all of the images from most companies (very few to start off with) searched has a considerable amount of cloud cover for a lot of the Azores region. For example, we had been sent samples from 4 different images on different dates for Pico, and all of them had at least 15% cloud cover. Photoreal areas will mostly be restricted to nearby airport area as the clouds are generally around the mountains, a little further away from most airports.

Hello,

Indeed we have had some delays, but it should be smooth sailing after I return to my HUB next weekend. Carlos is ongoing with the Antigua airport and I am ongoing with Azores project. When Carlos finishes Antigua, he will port over to Azores to help the project go along faster to release the first pack. The delay has been for the better as we received some key info and photos that would be missing should we had gone ahead and done the airport with some vital stuff missing which is not what we wanted to do.

Good Evening, when will this scenery be released? i have been a long time customer of Tropical Sim and i must say that i am very dissapointed at this delay. This project was announced in mid 2010,we are now in March 2011 and still no shots,no information whatsoever, more dissapointing is the fact that you have released Antigua before the Azores, event tough the Azores was announced 1st, and i now see that you are working on other sceneries for South America and still nothing on the Azores......To make things even more painfull you will only be releasing 3 Airports at at a time, which means what? How long do we have to wait for the 2nd and 3rd pack of airports to be released after the 1s one is out........This is very poor consideration towards your customers..........And i now starting to have serious doubts if this scenery will ever be released.....

I feel that Tropical Sim shoould finish an entire project 1st before starting another one.....

Hello,

How are you? I understand your frustrations regarding the time it is taking for the project. We understand the Portuguese community is eagerly waiting for the release of the TropicalSim Açores, as we are in releasing it.

That being said, we also have to consider that the Azores is a special place with an unique charm. One of the uniqueness about this place is the fact that it is in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, which in turn makes access difficult for many, and so is getting hold of material on the airports.

In order to get the material we needed, Marco Gonçalves from Portugal vACC led the team of researchers and gathered together from simmers to airline pilots. We received a first batch of material early in the process to along with some material we managed to collect ourselves.

At this time we decided that:
1: Making just the big airports would not fulfill the community's need.
2: Making all airports and then releasing a 9 airport pack at once would not be commercially viable from our side. We could not go this long without a release.
3: Having 3, 3 airport packs would be the ideal scenario.

Once this decision was made we started putting the names on paper and see how the packs would be made to balance out 1 larger, 1 medium and 1 smaller airport per pack.

At this time I begun working on the gMax groundwork for the airports that would compose the first pack, as well as researching other essential data for production, such as SRTM data for Mesh while other projects that has already been penciled in prior to the Azores was receiving priority.

After we concluded Bilbao Airport, the last airport that entered production prior to the Azores, I turned to the Azores, while Carlos continued his project already started (If you saw our projects page you'll have seen TAPA listed there since last October).

I don't recall any time since we begun our journey way back as Flightsim Brasil in October 2002, that we ever saw a community come together and help us in any project as you guys have been doing, and this alone is motivation for us to want to finish the project as soon as possible, but we can assure you the long wait is over. Once we publish the first screenshots this weekend the wait will be a short one.

As for the time needed to make packs 2 and 3, rest assured it would not be long. It's like buying your first car. The first one is tough, but it's easier from then onwards <img src=\'http://www.tropicalsim.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'Wink\' />

Stay tuned to our forum this weekend and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Hi <img src=\'http://www.tropicalsim.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'Smile\' />

We know you`re eager to see some images.
Leandro is preparing some screenshots from 2 Azores airports to be posted here, maybe today, maybe tomorrow, already exported to FS ambient, showing buildings and groud work done.

For the moment, I`m showing here 3 images of Pico Island Airport/LPPI, while I`m working on it.

Notice that it is sill on Gmax ambient, as you see, a lot of things yet to be done, but I`m sure you can start having a glance of how the airports will become and the care we are taking on doing them.
Hope you enjoy the pics. Much more to come very soon.

Keep tuned, Leandro`s shots are being prepared.

My best regards,
Carlos Pereira.
